Approximately 2 hours north of North Bay, Ontario or 5 hours north or Toronto, Ellen Island Camp is situated on a 17 acre private island on the unspoiled waters of beautiful Lady Evelyn Lake. Lady Evelyn Lake offers some of the best Walleye, Small Mouth Bass, and Northern Pike fishing in Ontario. Lady Evelyn Lake is very remote, with no road access, so there are very few people on the lake but don’t worry about the remoteness and no-road access, we look after getting you and all your gear right to your cottage. Once you park your vehicle at Mowats Landing leave the rest to us, sit back and enjoy your scenic wilderness boat trip to the island. Lady Evelyn Lake is over 18,000 acres of water and close to 450 miles of shoreline, with many islands, back bays and all the structure imaginable to provide you with all the opportunities to catch Walleye, Great Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass.
Our rental cottages are all situated on the shores of Ellen Island with spectacular views and sunsets. All five of our cottages will provide you with the comforts of home in a remote wilderness setting. Years of hard work have resulted in the replacement of all of the aged cabins with new deluxe two bedroom fully equipped cottages. Each cottage has a screened porch, deck with propane BBQ. The Kitchens are fully equipped with everything you will need along with a propane fridge and stove. If the weather is cool, there is a propane heater in each cottage for your comfort. The two bedroom cottages come with all the linens, blankets and pillows so there is no need to worry about packing all that extra gear. 
Just bring along your food, favourite beverages, and fishing gear. Ellen Island Camp will look after the bait, boat, motor, supply of fuel, and ice to keep your drinks cold.
Speaking of boats, you will find our 16ft Aluminium boats very comfortable with the padded swivel seats and floorboards. The boats all come equipped with fish finders, nets, paddles, anchors, life jackets and all the required safety equipment. 
The boats are powered by 4-stroke 20 HP Yamaha outboards which are very reliable and easy to operate.
If all this is not enough and you are looking for other things to do while staying at the island maybe you want to consider exploring even more of this great wilderness on our back lakes, boats are available on these back lakes for our guests to use at no extra charge, its first come, first serve. We will provide you with a small motor to pack in, along with enough gas and bait for your adventure.
If you just want to spend some time reading, playing bumper pool, darts, or hanging out with other guests to watch a little television in the evening visit our guest lounge which we call “Charlie’s Den” or maybe you would like to take a walk on our nature trails around the island, you may see ruffed grouse, squirrels, rabbit, but don’t worry its safe and fun.
